About me

My Philosophy

My creed: When mama looks good, she feels good, enabling her to be the best mama she can be! Myrtle&Flossie was founded on the belief that life does not end when you become a mom, it actually begins. No need to sacrifce style, comfort nor your needs when becoming a mother. There usually is tons of support and resources for women during pregnancy and that much more for baby, however moms seem to always be left out of that equation after giving birth. It doesn't matter whether you are a mother of a 2yr old or a 25 year old, mom's somehow always put their needs and care for themsleves last. If we as women and mothers break down, then everything around us crumbles. Mothers are the nucleus that holds the family dynamic together and that should be protected and nurtured as much as the child.

Studies have shown that cultures in which women, who are cared for by others for a period of days or weeks after giving birth, who are encouraged only to nurture themselves and their babies have superior outcomes in postpartum adjustment. Women who experience support from their family members, care providers, doulas, counselors and peer groups have greater breastfeeding success, greater self-confidence, and less postpartum depression and feel less overwhelmed.

M&F specializes in "after care" for new and existing moms. "Mothering the mother" providing postpartum doula services, supporting mama's, and women wellness services that aid in womb health, and toxin cellulite free healthy bodies from the inside out.

My Story

With a 15+ year career in the fashion industry in New York city as a model, I was used to a very different faced pace lifestyle. Traveling all over nationally and internationally, working in different markets, settling down was far from the horizon. However with a stroke of cupid's arrow, I met my husband, got married, moved to Jersey City from Brooklyn, and within three weeks after buying our home, I was pregnant. Being pregnant with my daughter was fun and care free. I was grateful for a smooth and easy pregnancy, but life after my baby was born was not as sweet...I was not prepared for the physical, emotional, and psychological transitions I underwent and the monumental life changes that ensued as a new mother--- let alone getting dressed in the morning, trying to get the day started, sustaining my household, and maintaining a healthy self-image. There were and still are plenty of resources available for expecting mothers, but I yearned for a solution that addressed the challenges and issues women face after the birth of a child.

Hence my brand Mytle&Flossie was created. As I gave birth to my daughter, I gave birth to the idea that life after baby doesn't have to be hard, sad, lonley, unattractive, overwhelming, nor depressing. There is plenty of help and resources for mothers to assist them through the journey of motherhood. I became a certified Postpartum Doula in 2014, however I have been assisting women through the trials and tribulations of post for a few years prior. As a postpartum doula my services and skills are:
